About the paintings
My work begins with the sea: shifting light, weather, distance, and the emotional pull of place.
The circular Sea Portals and expansive seascapes are built in layers of oil, holding atmosphere rather than describing it.
Heading Home Beneath the Storm
Commissioned by a fisherman from Devon who connected with my work.
The headland is Berry Head — a familiar piece of land held against the movement and weather of the sea.

Immersive seascapes made as windows into another atmosphere.

About Jennifer & D&H Law
Jennifer Austin is a Scottish oil painter from Orkney, based in Edinburgh. Her work is rooted in North Sea light, open water and remembered landscape. Expansive seascapes and circular Sea Portals draw the viewer into weather, place and moment.
For D&H Law’s renovated Albert Street offices in Kirkwall, an original A1 oil painting was digitised, enlarged and printed as a bespoke wall mural. Brush marks and surface texture remain visible as an Orcadian waterfront becomes architecture.
