Bonded by sharing countless late-night tunes in sundry Edinburgh pubs – as well as their love of cycling - the High Rolling Sessions’ core trio comprises Salsa Celtica trumpeter/percussionist Toby Shippey, Fara pianist Jennifer Austin and Dallahan multi-instrumentalist Ciaran Ryan. Joined here by the prodigiously virtuosic Tim Edey – whose most recent jaw-dropping album, 2019’s Being Myself, finds him playing guitar, melodeon, piano, mandola and bass – and other surprise guests, they unite A-list musicianship with session-style spontaneity and unpredictability, mixing new and old Scottish/Irish tunes with styles and instrumentation sourced from far and wide.
